First Bank & Trust
First Bank & Trust is the largest agricultural lending bank in Virginia. Historically, a more traditionally designed bank, First Bank executives approached Joba to reimagine many of the traditional features within the interior of their newest branch being built in Blacksburg, Virginia. Very conscientious about customer engagement, First Bank did not want customer interactions to feel like a “transaction,” but rather a welcoming experience. Challenged with the security and functional restrictions of a bank, Joba was tasked with designing an interior and a brand identity that attracted the bank’s target audience of Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff, while respecting the Bank's historical roots.
Branding
First Bank & Trust needed an updated brand to go with their new environmental design. The Joba team wanted to pay homage to the rich history of First Bank & Trust while also updating their logo mark and color palette to better compete in the modern competitive banking industry. The Joba team used a bold red, black, and white color palette with a round logo mark and distinct font to show the history and confidence their clients have in their brand. This new branding for First Bank & Trust is deeply woven into their environment design, creating a recognizable brand identity for their clients.
Environmental
A rotunda-like architectural feature adorned with strategically patterned glass tiles, draw customers in upon entry. Customers can log in at the tech desk nestled in front of a sleek, custom acrylic panel installation that brings depth and movement, while tying in the brand color palette and logo marks. Customers can then progress to a custom designed teller desk that balances traditional wood casing with a modern wood-grain finish and pops of red acrylic. From the office drapery to all of the furniture, paint and floor selections, Joba’s design team was intentional about each detail of the project. The result is a bank location that embodies its brand identity from top to bottom.
